Help With Appeals

Help with appeals

If you disagree with a decision made by the WCB, we may be able to help.

We provide a range of services to workers and employers covered by the WCB, to help them appeal WCB decisions.

These services were previously delivered by the WCB’s Office of the Appeals Advisor. The Fair Practices Office has taken responsibility for these services, and expanded upon them.

Workers and employers can now both benefit from the same types of advice, assistance and advocacy services, now completely separate from the WCB organization.

There are two types of appeals advisors. They work independently of each other based on the type of client.

  • Worker Appeals Advisors (previously known as the Office of the Appeals Advisor) provide support and advice to workers and dependents who need help with reviews and appeals.
  • Employer Appeals Advisors provide support and advice to employers who need help with reviews and appeals. Services are only available to employers with 100 employees or less.

There are time limits to appeal a decision. You need to be within these time limits in order for us to help you with an appeal.
